A women's chance of having breast cancer during her lifetime is 1 in 8. Your chance of knowing this woman is almost 100%. One woman is diagnosed every 3 minutes with breast cancer and every 13 minutes breast cancer claims another life.
I have made a commitment to a very special and powerful event in the fight against breast cancer. The weekend of October 4, 2002 I will be walking in the Avon Breast Cancer 3 Day with over 3,000 other participants. Each walker is to raise $1,900.00 for the cause, but I have made it a personal goal to raise $2,500.00. With your donations and me walking 20 miles a day, 60 miles in 3 days, sleeping in a tent, using port-a-pottys for 3 days, and showering in trucks we should be able to make a difference. When a stone is dropped into a lake it quickly disappears from sight, but its impact leaves behind a series of ripples that broaden and reach across the water. In the same way, the impact of one donation for breast cancer will leave behind an influence for good that will reach the lives of many others. Please find it in your heart to help.
